Firstly, I introduce you to the concept of colour ‘seasons’ and explain how each season corresponds to different tones and shades. This helps set the foundation for understanding which colours naturally enhance your features.

Next, I guide you through a short questionnaire so that I have got all the information that I need to ensure a worthwhile appointment for you. I then use a set of seasonal colour drapes to see how various shades look on you and I carefully observe which colours complement your skin tone, eyes, and hair.

After analysing the results, I show you which season you belong to and show you which colours complement your skin tone, eyes, and hair. This means that you will gain a clear understanding of your colour palette, allowing you to make informed decisions about what to wear.

We then have some fun exploring the full range of colour drapes in your season, discussing which basics and neutrals are essential, how you can mix and match, and what you personally prefer, along with how these colours apply to make up and jewellery choices.

Lastly, after answering all your questions, I provide your handy colour swatch and talk you through how to use it, so that you can eliminate any colour uncertainty.

This is easy – you absolutely do not because I will not be assessing what you have turned up in! However, I do ask that you do not wear anything that is high-necked, as that might get in the way of the colour drapes. I also ask, if at all possible, to come without makeup (but a little bit of mascara won’t hurt).

I send an information sheet that covers all this prior to our appointment.

After a colour consultation, most clients feel excited about their newfound understanding and colour choices, and actually want to have a clear out that makes sense because most women only wear about 20 to 30 percent of the clothes that they own, so there is always scope for a cull.

As part of the consultation, I will talk you through how to make the most of what you have in your wardrobe. We will definitely be working towards a cull so as to simplify your options and to learn what goes with which. The aim is to have easy outfit choices once we are finished and a lot less clutter.

Your colour season remains unchanged as you age; however, sometimes it helps to go for less intense versions of the colours that you have always previously worn.

More often though, you might have been wearing colours from the wrong palette, and they are way less forgiving on older or ageing skin, so the clash stands out more. Wearing the colours from the right season for you can make a huge difference.

Finding your style personality is a good start, and I can help you figure that out with questions about your lifestyle needs and what image you want to present.

Once we know this, looking good is about getting clothing that is the right colour, shape, and fit for your figure in line with your style personality.

If you are a current or previous client – yes. If you have something in mind but are a little unsure, get in touch and we can do a short video call so that you can show me your outfit.

I will give you my advice, and if you need more help with shopping or a look book, we can arrange that, too.

Together we go through your wardrobe, one section at a time, in a relaxed and supportive way. I help you identify what suits your colouring, body shape, lifestyle and personal style, and explain why.

We sort your clothing into simple categories, such as:

  • Keep
  • Alter
  • Donate or sell
  • Replace in the future

You will come away with a wardrobe that is easier to choose from and a much better understanding of why certain clothes suit you.

Not at all. Nothing leaves your wardrobe unless you are happy to part with it. My role is to guide and educate, not tell you what you have to do.

Many clients are pleasantly surprised to discover they already own far more useful clothing than they perhaps realised.

Please don’t – almost every client tells me that they are a little nervous before we begin, but my job is not to judge your wardrobe, it is to help you make the most of it.

I have seen wardrobes of every size and style, and I understand that life, work, family, and changing bodies all affect what we wear.

This is a completely judgement-free experience.

No, but if you have a lot of clothing, I might ask that you ensure that we can easily get to your current season’s clothing, as that is the most practical part to tackle.

Other than that, please leave it as it is, although I do find most women have a bit of a look through first so that they know themselves what they actually have and what they want deal with.

Usually not. The aim is to help you get much more wear out of what you already own. If there are genuine gaps, I will suggest only the pieces that will make the biggest difference to your wardrobe.

Many clients actually spend less on clothes after a wardrobe edit because they shop with much more confidence, clarity, and certainty.

That is completely normal. Many women tell me they have lost confidence in getting dressed because they are not sure any more of what suits them.

We will work together to discover a look that feels right for you – not someone else’s idea of fashion.

Bodies naturally change throughout life. Whether you have experienced weight changes, menopause, pregnancy, or simply find that your body has changed with age, I will help you dress the body you have now so that you can feel comfortable and confident.

Most wardrobe edits take around three hours, depending on the size of your wardrobe and how much you would like to cover.

Not necessarily. A wardrobe edit works well on its own, but if you’ve already had a colour consultation, we can use your colour palette to for even more clarity and confidence about your clothing choices.

I will certainly let you know about current trends if you are interested, but my focus is on helping you build a wardrobe that suits you because fashion changes; personal style lasts.

Absolutely. One of the most valuable parts of a wardrobe edit is creating outfit combinations using pieces that you already own. You will often discover combinations you would never have thought of yourself.

I send you a questionnaire to get to know you a bit before your appointment, and in that I suggest things like having access to a full-length mirror, a place to put discards, etc.

Yes. Whether you have a wardrobe that is overflowing or one that quite small, the goal is the same – to make every garment suitable.

Sometimes a smaller wardrobe can actually be transformed very quickly.
