Go shopping in your own wardrobe
Wardrobe editing is like my helping you to go shopping in your wardrobe. You will learn which styles suit you, how to mix and match, and what might be missing – giving you clarity, confidence, and a wardrobe that you love to wear. All this of course means you that save time every day when choosing your outfit.
By the end our of session you will have a well-organised wardrobe, a wardrobe planner summary, and a shopping list for any fashionable extras or basics needed.
What actually happens during a wardrobe edit?
Together we go through your wardrobe, one section at a time, in a relaxed and supportive way. I help you identify what suits your colouring, body shape, lifestyle and personal style, and explain why.
We sort your clothing into simple categories, such as:
- Keep
- Alter
- Donate or sell
- Replace in the future
You will come away with a wardrobe that is easier to choose from and a much better understanding of why certain clothes suit you.

“I cannot believe what we achieved in two short hours.”
“Nicky nudged me just enough outside my comfort zone to try new colours and items I have not worn in years, that looked surprisingly good. I love all the clothes, and I feel renewed inspiration and confidence. Nicky offered to help me integrate the new pieces into my wardrobe and also with accessories. ”

FAQs
Can’t find the answer to your question? I’m always happy to have a chat.
Will you make me throw lots of clothes away?
Not at all. Nothing leaves your wardrobe unless you are happy to part with it. My role is to guide and educate, not tell you what you have to do.
Many clients are pleasantly surprised to discover they already own far more useful clothing than they perhaps realised.
What if I feel embarrassed about my wardrobe?
Please don’t – almost every client tells me that they are a little nervous before we begin, but my job is not to judge your wardrobe, it is to help you make the most of it.
I have seen wardrobes of every size and style, and I understand that life, work, family, and changing bodies all affect what we wear.
This is a completely judgement-free experience.
Do I need to tidy my wardrobe before you arrive?
No, but if you have a lot of clothing, I might ask that you ensure that we can easily get to your current season’s clothing, as that is the most practical part to tackle.
Other than that, please leave it as it is, although I do find most women have a bit of a look through first so that they know themselves what they actually have and what they want deal with.
Will I have to buy lots of new clothes afterwards?
Usually not. The aim is to help you get much more wear out of what you already own. If there are genuine gaps, I will suggest only the pieces that will make the biggest difference to your wardrobe.
Many clients actually spend less on clothes after a wardrobe edit because they shop with much more confidence, clarity, and certainty.
What if I do not have a sense of my own style?
That is completely normal. Many women tell me they have lost confidence in getting dressed because they are not sure any more of what suits them.
We will work together to discover a look that feels right for you – not someone else’s idea of fashion.
What if I have changed size?
Bodies naturally change throughout life. Whether you have experienced weight changes, menopause, pregnancy, or simply find that your body has changed with age, I will help you dress the body you have now so that you can feel comfortable and confident.
How long does a wardrobe edit take?
Most wardrobe edits take around three hours, depending on the size of your wardrobe and how much you would like to cover.
Do I need to have a colour consultation first?
Not necessarily. A wardrobe edit works well on its own, but if you’ve already had a colour consultation, we can use your colour palette to for even more clarity and confidence about your clothing choices.
Will you tell me what is in fashion?
I will certainly let you know about current trends if you are interested, but my focus is on helping you build a wardrobe that suits you because fashion changes; personal style lasts.
Can you help me put outfits together?
Absolutely. One of the most valuable parts of a wardrobe edit is creating outfit combinations using pieces that you already own. You will often discover combinations you would never have thought of yourself.
What should I have ready before my appointment?
I send you a questionnaire to get to know you a bit before your appointment, and in that I suggest things like having access to a full-length mirror, a place to put discards, etc.
Is a wardrobe edit worth doing if I do not have many clothes?
Yes. Whether you have a wardrobe that is overflowing or one that quite small, the goal is the same – to make every garment suitable.
Sometimes a smaller wardrobe can actually be transformed very quickly.
