What a good stylist does not do

A good stylist listens to your needs
When people first think about working with a personal stylist, they often have a few concerns. Sometimes they imagine being told to throw everything out and start again, or about being pressured into buying expensive clothes. Or being encouraged to wear trends that they are not that keen on.
If any of those thoughts have crossed your mind, you are not alone, but that is not how I work at all. My job is not to turn you into someone else, but to help you become more confident in who you already are. And that comes from listening to what you want to achieve and what your lifestyle involves.
What works for you
I believe that style should feel comfortable, authentic, and achievable. It should fit your lifestyle, your personality, your body, and your budget. Even if you want styling for perhaps a photo shoot or for when you are presenting to an audience, you will want to look credible and professional, but you still want feel authentic.
That means:
- No pressure to buy designer labels or expensive clothing.
- No expectation that you will suddenly wear bold trends or high-fashion pieces.
- No judgement about what is currently in your wardrobe.
Instead, I help you understand what works for you and why.
Taking the guesswork out of getting dressed
Many women come to me totally lacking in confidence – feeling overwhelmed by shopping, frustrated by a wardrobe full of clothes that they rarely wear, or unsure about what suits them now. Together, we take away the guesswork.
When you know your best colours, understand the shapes and styles that flatter you, and learn how to put outfits together, getting dressed becomes much easier and way less stressful.
Here is how it can feel
Imagine:
✓ Walking into a shop and knowing exactly what you are looking for.
✓ Feeling confident that what you are buying will go with the rest of your wardrobe.
✓ Saving money by avoiding costly mistakes.
✓ Opening your wardrobe and seeing clothes that you actually enjoy wearing.
✓ Feeling more like yourself when you get dressed each day.
These are the kinds of changes my clients often tell me make the biggest difference, not because they suddenly have a completely new wardrobe, but because they finally understand how to make their existing wardrobe work for them.
Being well put together does not mean striving for perfection, but feeling comfortable, confident, and at ease in what you wear. And THAT is something that I strongly believe that every woman deserves.
